We invested a huge amount of free hours in 2022 into helping people find framing options for their homes. Whilst it's personally rewarding when results happen, it has become a thankless task with simply too many requests not responding or saying thanks. So, we’ve decided to close this service.
Wanting something of your street or area?
Use the request form on this page to lodge a request to find something worthy of framing for your home. The Unrestored section gives you an idea of what to expect.
It takes around two hours per request to find and present great options, longer if it’s a difficult one. This service is done free of charge to provide you with wonderful historic options specific to your home, street or suburb.
All historic pieces do require repair, resizing, and restoration so they can be printed and framed in an A size. This restorations service is an additional investment of $50 on top of your framed print size as listed on all our store products.
Upfront limit of expectation
Whilst we are very savvy and provide a huge value with our search results, there are things we simply can’t provide. The two most common requests are:
Photographs of your home in a certain time period. Photography in the late 1800-1950s was a luxury. Unless a prominent society member lived in your home, the odds are very low. Aerial photos from the 1920s-1950s do exist and are more likely.
Lot plans, titles, ownership information, exact dates of construction or modification. You need to discuss this with your local Historical Society and Council History Centre - both are usually paid services and are great resources.
