Footascray Franco Cozzo Suburban Icon Poster

from A$50.00

"GRAND SALE, GRAND SALE, GRAND SALE!"

As the Franco Cozzo House embarks on its transformation into Moon Dog Brewery, we pay tribute to this Western gem in all its former glory. Before it morphs from furniture to frothies, let's take a stroll down memory lane.

Franco Cozzo, came to Australian in 1956 from the shores of Sicily. His furniture empire began with his very first store in North Melbourne. But in the 1980s, his name became synonymous with Footscray, where he practically adorned the landscape with his unique baroque furniture. In the ever-evolving world of interior design, his legacy looms large.

It wasn't just his furniture that left its mark. Franco's radio and television advertisements were the stuff of legend, raising Footscray's profile with every melodious utterance of "Footascray." The man knew how to make an impression, and his iconic rallying cry of "Megalo! Megalo! Megalo!" echoes through time.

Now, you too can bask in the grandeur of the unofficial mayor of Footscray with our Suburban Icons Poster. It's a vivid ode to the larger-than-life Franco Cozzo and his iconic inner-west warehouse. Here's to the man who turned furniture into artistry and made Footscray a destination worth pronouncing with flair!

This artwork is available in A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, as well as the ever popular Postcard. Professional framing is available on A0, A1 and A2 sizes via pick up only.
